A newly constructed three-storey building down the road from the Moto’otua market in Apia is scheduled to be completed in August this year.

The building is the latest business investment by the Princessa Company Ltd chain of businesses in the area.

Co-owner of the company, Zhujian Chen, said the initial plan for the three-storey building is for it to house a warehouse and possibly hotel on the top floor.

“It is unsure at the moment we are still discussing the business plan for it. When it is completed we will know by then but those are the options we are looking at.

“Not a supermarket but a warehouse and hotel. But will know by August the final plan.”

Mr. Chen added that the construction work is providing employment to about 20 Samoans when it began in April last year.

The three-storey building stands opposite the Poinsettia building which houses the Alpha Café & Chemist and is also the country headquarter for the Samoa Peace Corps.
