Members of the New Methodist Church are gathering at Vaitele-Fou for their third annual conference, this year.

The church was first established in Samoa in 2012 by Reverend Petaia Setu.

Yesterday, a service at the church at Vaitele-Fou offered up thanksgiving. It was also an opportunity for members of the church to commit the conference in prayers.

The conference this is being attended by members from New Zealand, the United States of America and Australia. The theme is “Receive the Holy Spirit.”

Chairman of the New Methodist Church in Samoa, Ulugia Niuia Aumua, said the conference is an opportunity for the church to share ideas about how to improve the Kingdom of God on earth.

“That is the main focus for this year,” he said. “I believe that some of the issues for this year  are about the development of the church and its branches across the globe and in Samoa, as well.”

The church has six branches; three in New Zealand, one in Australia, one in Samoa and one in the United States.

With over three hundred members since it was first started in 2012, the church is all about working together for God’s glory.

The annual conference will end on Sunday.
