Is Club X merging with TENAMO??

By Maggie Kelekolio

The famous Club X established in 2011 will be hosting its last events and officially closes on the 30th March 2019. The club is picked and visited by many because of its positive vibe and good customer service, regular customers are sadden by the news and some have claimed that it is due to a merge with another bar TENAMO!
Pepe Christian Fruaen one of the shareholders was able to clear the false news that was already viral. “TENAMO is a family business and they have their own things to worry about, they have relocated not because we are merging but because of their own reasons,” he said. Pepe told Samoa Observer that the club will be closed for renovations, closing down was never an option for the family; however they cannot renovate the whole place if they continue business. Their location at Matautu is best and they are planning to renew the building and not relocate. Samoa hosting the SPG is also a contributing factor to the renovations that will be made, the owner is planning big and Club X must stand out and become a centre attraction for the tourists and its local customers. “We are trying our best to reopen Club X before July,” he said.

TENAMO on the other hand confirms their relocation and dismissed claims about merging. They moved for a better situation and cheaper rent. A merge can be an option however the two businesses did not discuss combining their family owned. The owner Manuele Puka said that he is willing to consider merging with Club X if they are interested but no one approached him. “The landlord informed me that I needed to move and is the only reason why we moved to the Ace Building at Apia,” he added. Manuele is hoping to reopen TENAMO on Monday 1st of April and expand when business is good.
