The Ministry of Police has again warned the public against the possession of illicit substances.

They remind that this is illegal in Samoa.

The warning comes after a drug raid which saw a 54-year-old man arrested.

A Police statement said they found one glass pipe and a firearm type 22 pistol revolver when they carried out a search for illicit substances.

The 54-year-old male is from the village of Nuu-fou and Sa’asa’ai Savai'i.

“He will appear in court for mention on the 1st April 2019.

“Samoa Police Service wishes to advise the public that a court conviction limits opportunities for convicted offenders towards a better future. We also thank members of the public for their continuous support and providing information that are helpful to the Samoa Police.”

Emails to the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Papali’i Monalisa seeking comments whether any illicit substances were found were not answered as of press time.
