P.M. Tuilaepa completes Election registration
The leader of the H.R.P.P. Tuilaepa Dr. Sailele Malielegaoi registered on Monday at the Office of the Electoral Commission at the S.N.P.F. Plaza, accompanied by two Lepa chiefs, Auelua Samuelu Enari and Tuilaepa Eti Fa’aolotoi.
Obesity, dental decay rising among schoolchildren
“For children the prevalence of overweight and obesity in Samoa 13-15 years old was estimated to be 51 percent and 19.2 percent respectively in 2011 and has increased to 58 percent and 23.3 percent in 2017 are at increased risk of developing health problems according to the most recent Global School Health Survey in 2018.” Furthermore the M.O.H. says this has to do with unhealthy eating. “The nutrition related health concerns are linked to poor eating habits children who regularly consume foods which are high in fat, sugar, salt and low in fiber such as ice pops, pancakes, soft drinks, doughnuts, noodles, chips, including taro and banana chips sweets and lollies.”
