A woman facing 264 charges of theft as a servant and 264 charges of falsifying or altering documents has found a lawyer.

Matagofie Brown Laititi was denied legal aid when she appeared in the Supreme Court last week and was asked to pay for her own lawyer if she needed legal counsel.

Earlier this week she appeared again for criminal mention and was represented by lawyer Arthur Lesa on instructions from Aumua Ming Leung Wai.

Chief Justice, His Honour Patu Tiava’asue Falefatu Sapolu presided the matter.

Lucy Sio Ofoia was the prosecutor.

Patu then adjourned the matter for next week to allow Laititi to consult with her lawyer. She is remanded on bail.

The amount involved in the alleged offence against Laititi is $117,000. She was an employer of a law firm company at the time when the alleged offending took place.
