Bank South Pacific (BSP) staff have donated $1,000 towards the Samoa Victim Support Group (SVSG) to help with its work targeting local women.

The donation was held at the BSP Board Room on Tuesday with the bank's country head (Samoa), Taituuga Maryann Lameko-Vaai presented the $1,000 cheque to the SVSG president, Siliniu Lina Chang.

Taituuga said while the commemoration of the International Women’s Day 2019 could be over, for BSP (Samoa), its staff opted to celebrate the day by giving back to the local community through the work of the SVSG.

"We chose to donate to SVSG because of the work you do to look after young women who are victims of crime, it is the least we could do but the work you do allows us to put our own problems into perspective.”

"The donation was put together by the staff of the BSP (Samoa)," she said.

Siliniu acknowledged the continued partnership with the BSP and thanked Taituuga and her staff for their ongoing belief in the work that SVSG carries out.

"The donation and its intention is a source of encouragement as we continued working to support the women of Samoa.”
