Alcohol is suspected to have been a factor in a horror collision at Vailima on Mother’s Day Sunday.

The collision happened during broad daylight. As of press time last night, it could not be confirmed whether there were any casualties.

But eyewitness, Terry Tovio, who lives in the area, said four people were in the sedan that was at fault.

He said the sedan heading from Vailima to town smashed head on into another vehicle occupied by a woman and her daughter.

“All six were taken to the hospital,” Mr. Tovio said.

“The injuries were severe.”

Mr. Tovio said the Fire and Emergency Services Authority and the Police were present at the scene.

He added that alcohol is suspected to have been involved, with beer bottles found in the sedan.

It was not possible to get a comment from Police Superintendent, Auapa’au Logoitino Filipo, yesterday.
