Moata’a retain Shield

Moata'a defeated Moamoa 32-22 at Tuanaimato in week eight of the Apia Rugby Union competition, and will retain the Shield for at least another week.

Having taken the Shield off SCOPA last week, they have one more game to get through against Vailele to lock it away for the rest of 2019.

Moata'a lead 25-14 at halftime, with a crucial knock on over the tryline from a Moamoa player as the first half ended proving to be a crucial moment in the match.

Earlier in the day, Vaiala Under 20s retained the Apia Union Trophy with a 15-13 win over Alamagato.

Next week is the last round of the Apia Rugby Union competition, with the Super 9 commencing on the 30th of March.
