The family of a woman who was stabbed in the face last Wednesday evening have appealed for help to locate the perpetrator.

Fatima Mika has been admitted at the Tupua Tamasese Meaole (TTM) National Hospital at  Moto’otua last Wednesday, after the stabbing left her with serious facial injuries.

Family member Lesina Va’a told the Samoa Observer that they are looking for a man who is known to be close to the victim.

The police are also looking for a man who is a suspect in the stabbing. Police Deputy Commissioner, Papali’i Monalisa Keti,  said such an assault is illegal and the matter should be reported immediately to the nearest Police station.

“Whenever there is an accident, the Police must be contacted to enable us to provide the support and assistance required,” she said.

Pictures of the woman with her facial injuries were posted to social media last Wednesday and circulated by members of the public.

The family of the victim are hopeful that the suspect will be located soon with the assistance of the Police.
