The Samoa Shipping Corporation (SSC) services between Upolu and Savaii were shut yesterday due to bad weather conditions.

This was confirmed by a public notice from the corporation on their website and their Facebook page and they apologised for the inconvenienced caused to members of the public.

“Our services continue to be closed due to bad weather, and we apologise for the inconvenience causing to your scheduled plans."

“But weather conditions continue to persist with unpredictable trends that it is best that we close services for the safety of travelling public and crews."

“Thank you for your patience and understanding but let us put our heads together in prayer for better weather conditions soon,” the notice stated.

SSC also added that there will be updates posted to their social media page and on their website if there were any changes.

“We will update if any changes are made but this depends on condition of the weather. Services officially closed for the whole day (yesterday) and no opportunity of sailing anytime today (yesterday). Thank you for your patience and understanding regarding this decision.”

The services by SSC have been continuously closed to ensure the safety of the public due to severe weather conditions.
