A convicted thief has escaped Tafa’igata Prison and is at large.

Namaia Paono, a 19-year-old male of Tiavea, Aleipata, escaped from prison on Wednesday.

“The Samoa Prisons and Correctional Services (S.P.C.S.) reported to the Samoa Police Service this afternoon 26th of September 2018 the escape of a prisoner from Tāfaigata prisons,” the Samoa Police Service said. 

“The escape prisoner is serving time for burglary and theft.

“The public is advised not to approach the prisoner but please contact a nearest police station or call 22222 immediately to report any information that may lead to his arrest.”
