PR - Before the acquisition of Westpac by BSP, Westpac in 2014 launched one of their innovative products, the Manu Samoa Visa Debit Card before the Manu Samoa vs. Tonga game. BSP took over Westpac’s operations in Samoa and have continued to sell this product.

During the launch it was advertised that 50% of the $70 annual fee will go towards the Manu Samoa Team. This week, the Bank South Pacific is proud to announce that they will be presenting to the C.E.O. of Samoa Rugby Union, Faleomavaega Vincent Fepuleai, the amount of $14,735.00.

“Today is a testament to our commitment to the community not only in making banking easier but also to highlight the emphasis we put on helping our community to prosper. As we all know us Samoans hold a great deal of national pride hence why the Manu Samoa Visa Debit card was aligned with Samoa’s great rugby team,” says BSP Country Manager Maryann Lameko – Vaai.

“This is not only a sponsorship from Bank South Pacific. This is a sponsorship from all the Samoan people who hold a Manu Samoa Visa Debit Card. They have contributed 50% of their fees into our sponsorship this morning,” Mrs Lameko-Vaai added.

When the bank presented the Prime Minister with the first ever Manu Samoa Visa Debit Card he commended the bank for its innovative co-branding and partnership with Samoa Rugby Union via its fixed fee co-branded Manu Samoa Visa Debit Card.

The ultimate goal if appropriate systems are in place is for Bank South Pacific to consider in the future making the co-branded Manu Samoa Visa Debit Card more accessible to Manu Samoa global fans and supporters.

The Manu Samoa Visa Debit card adheres to the same principles as that of a BSP PacifiCard. A BSP Manu Samoa Visa Debit Card is accepted worldwide. It can be used at 30 million merchants and 1.4 million ATMs where Visa is accepted.
