Apollo Cinemas at Savalalo was the place to be last night.

It was where who’s who of Samoa lined up in a Moana themed cinema for a chance to meet some of the stars of Disney movie, Moana.

The most popular by far was the voice of Moana, Auli'i Cravalho, who is in Samoa with the Movie’s Directors and Producer.

Also in attendance was the Head of State, His Highness Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi, as well as government ministers and other dignitaries.

After guests enjoyed a few drinks, pupu’s and entertainment from the Manumea dance group, they all moved to the screening area where Auli'i, producer Osnat Shurer, and directors Ron Clements and John Musker shared a few words.

This was followed by a special message from Seiuli Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

“Talofa to everybody there in Samoa,” Seiuli said.

“This is a very special event, we are so proud to bring you a screening of Moana; I know our filmmakers are there with you right now and I wish I could be there with you.

“As you can see, I am in New York City, I’m promoting right now, I’m working; again I wish I could be there with you guys and watch the movie with you.

“I watched the movie with my family and we loved it and we are so proud to be able to show you guys there.

“As we say because it’s in our blood and in our culture; CHEEEEHOOOO.”
