Abba Rose of Sharon Dinah Vaiaoga-Ioasa has been waiting for the opportune moment to make her debut in the Miss Samoa Pageant.

And after six years of being patient, she is confident the timing is right to step into the limelight and vie for the Bluesky Miss Samoa Pageant 2016 silverware.

“I’ve been thinking about competing in the pageant since I was 20,” says the 26 year old representing Miss Lila’s Flora.

“And I feel confident that I have matured and I’m ready to challenge myself by stepping up as one of contestants.

“Through the pageant, I hope to share my skills and experiences to encourage woman to pursue their dreams because I remain firm in my resolve that nothing is impossible,” added the Engineer who has taken leave from her job in Canada in her quest to be the next Miss Samoa.

Born and raised in New Zealand, Abba is a very proud Samoan and has been impressed with the country’s evolution since its independence.

“Through the presentations arranged by the Pageant’s organisers   I have learned a lot in the last three days and it’s been an educational journey.

“To learn about Samoa and the  challenges and tribulations is priceless and something that I will always treasure.

“I am very impressed with my new-found knowledge and thankful to be a

Samoan.”

If successful with her campaign, Abba wants to tackle a range of diverse  issues that includes youth, unemployment, gender equality and the empowerment of women to name a few.

If not, she will forever treasure her journey as a Miss Samoa pageant contestant

The youngest in a family of two, Abba’s parents are Jason Iva Ioasa and Mrs Vaeani Vaiaoga-Salele.

She holds a Bachelor degree in Chemical & Material Engineering from the University of Auckland.
