Road to oblivion

When is a main road not a main road?  Answer: When it is neglected, patched and ignored by the powers that be.

Case in point is the shocking Cross Island Road. Despite being a busy thoroughfare for the many residents who live in the vicinity and a main route to the south coast for locals, businesses and tourists, it is still just basically a road hazard.

Deep uncovered ditches lie on either side for the unwary and snail-like taxi drivers seeking a smooth surface to save wear and tear on their tyres, are out of luck.

After promises of years ago by the Land Transport Authority CEO that approval for a World Bank loan had been given to address this issue, one wonders where that money has been shifted to?
