Get into Rugby Samoa

As the saying goes, teach them while they’re young.

Get Into Rugby finished up its programme in Upolu which took place at Marist Stadium in Lotopa and another location in Mulivai.

Get Into Rugby is  an International Organization funded by World Rugby.  The main objective of the programme is to develop rugby at the grassroots level .

The coordinator for Get Into Rugby in Samoa, Filoi Eleniko, said she received lots of support from the local community especially from the parents, teachers and schools.

The five-day programme is free for any children aged 4-14 and the equipment and water is supplied. However, the participants must supply their own meals.

Since Get Into Rugby is an International organization, there are two volunteers from London as well as local rugby players who help facilitate the program.

The young athletes are thrilled to be out on the field, especially, Jonathon Mailo age 11, who’s favourite team is Manu Samoa and he hopes to one day play for them

This week, Get Into Rugby will be heading to Savaii.
