John Wilson, the Pacific Programme Manager for NRL is in the country.

He arrived last night, and today, he will be visiting schools in which NRL Samoa have been working with since its inception last year.

He is joined by Miss Samoa, Arianna Taufao and the NRL Team in Samoa.

Today, they will be visiting Matautu Lefaga Primary School, Savaia Primary, Faleaseela Primary and Safa’ato’a Primary School.

John will also be meeting up with Rugby League Partners later on today.

This is John’s third visit to Samoa.

Gabrielle Apelu, the C.E.O for NRL in Samoa told the Samoa Observer that the purpose of John’s visit to Samoa is to see the progress of the programmes implemented by the NRL in the country.

“He is here to see where we are with our programmes and see how we are progressing with promoting the sport in Samoa.”

Moreover, the participants will also be presented with gifts from NRL today.

“We are also giving out some prizes for our new programme which is “short story competition” for all the schools. Thanks to Business System Limited for providing the prizes and we are hoping that our programme will not only focus on developing the sport, but also encourage our children to write and read.”

Gabrielle is excited about their programmes and she is certain John is excited about it too.
