The Samoa Ports Authority has presented a dividend of $1million tala to the Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi.

The S.P.A. Board of Director’s Chairman, Rev. Elisaia Fui Kolia along with other members of the board made the presentation in the Prime Minister’s office.

He said it was the first time the Authority had presented a dividend to government.

In accepting the cheque, Tuilaepa acknowledged the Authority and then quipped that he hopes they do not come back in the next few months asking government for some assistance.

Tuilaepa also used the opportunity to discuss a proposal plan for the new Vaiusu Bay nternational wharf.

He added the more ships that come into the small Matautu wharf, the more congested it is and it justifies the need for the wharf at Vaiusu.
