Dear Editor,

In response to a letter from Sam about the tourists who were robbed, I say your childish, self-pity response added more woods to the fire. 

The current problem we face in Samoa is people like you. You are too confined in your own selfish ideas and neglect to treat people with respect and step up to lend a hand when needed. 

Samoa needs tourists to boost the local economy. Tourists can go to Fiji where local police are willing to go the extra mile to assist in situations like these. 

What a sad truth that is when you are confronted for your laziness and you jump to defense mode. We are Samoans and we are proud of being Samoans and we can't send our Non-Samoan friends to visit our homeland just to be robbed and give the run around by the local police to solve their own issues. 

Ignorant fools like you Sam is the reason why Samoa will never progress any further in developing tourism. If you have a problem with my complaint then find another job or go koko sau maumaga.
