Business Systems make community commitment

Business Systems Ltd (B.S.L) has made a commitment to improving the lives and health of school children across Upolu and Savai’i with the launch of Samoa’s first All Year Round Back to School campaign yesterday morning. 

The campaign sees B.S.L employing a new marketing initiative for the New Year, with a particular focus on schools across Samoa. 

Similar to their B.S.L Loyalty programme introduced in 2014, the company has offered grand prizes, among which feature a van for school use, to the top six schools that spend the most money within the company in 2016. 

However, a core component of the initiative is the B.S.L Ambassador programme; an opportunity extended to all students across Samoa, from primary to tertiary institutions. 

Ten students will be selected from a range of age groups and will be awarded $2,000 each to assist with school tuition fees, stationery and school uniforms. 

Senior marketing consultant and I.T. head at B.S.L, Arnold Meredith expressed the company’s enthusiasm for the upcoming campaign.

 “We are very excited for this initiative, and we look forward to working together and assisting these students with their education financially for this year,” he said. 

Additionally, the programme offers the selected ambassadors the opportunity to work as representatives for B.S.L, working part time for the company and assisting with other initiatives supported by the company throughout the year. 

One such initiative, launched in conjunction with the Back to School campaign, is the B.S.L Healthy Living Programme whereby B.S.L hopes to emphasize and expand their company’s dedication to influencing the younger generations and schools about healthy living. 

This new healthy living campaign will be built upon the successful partnership between B.S.L and the One Touch Ministry in launching the Nobesity Programme in 2015. 

Nobesity programme leader, Visceta Meredith, expressed her gratitude to B.S.L for helping her team expand the Nobesity project.

“Through the Nobesity Programe 2015, we’ve tapped into the power of the parents and now we will tap into the power of communities and businesses”.

The joint focus of the Nobesity Programme and the B.S.L Back to School campaign on young children allows for the two groups to work together to help educate the community on the importance of nutrition and healthy living from an early age. 

B.S.L has also pledged their support for the annual B.S.L SCOPA Back to School Netball Tournament to be held next month in Savai’i as a means of maintaining their commitment to both schools and the promotion of health in Samoa.

On the 15th and 16th of January, B.S.L will be holding an open day at their compound, with huge discounts and free giveaways as well as stalls dedicated solely to the B.S.L Ambassador initiative and the Nobesity Programme.  Applications for the B.S.L Ambassador Initiative can be collected at the open day, via the B.S.L Facebook page or from any B.S.L branch across Samoa.
