Samoa 7s hopes for Quarterfinals still alive

Manu Samoa started their H.S.B.C World Series Vancouver tournament winning one of two of their opening games of Pool Match stages.

Samoa went down against Las Vegas tournament runner up Argentinean side 22-7 points for their first Pool Match clash, and a comeback win over England on their second Pool Match clash 21-5 at fulltime.

Argentina’s points came from three tries scored by Conrado Roura, Luciano Gonzalez and Marcos Moroni, with two conversions and one penalty converted by their skipper Gatson Revol.

Manu Samoa Sevens only try of the game came from Foma’i Neria, and the successful conversion followed by Tila Mealoi.

Manu Samoa second match against England points were from tries scored by forward David Afamasaga, winger Elisapeta Alofipo and La’aloi Leilua finishing a well worked team effort try just before the hooter.

All three conversions converted successfully by skipper Alatasi Tupou.

England five points came from a try from their forward Phil Burgess inside the second spell. 

Manu Samoa sevens will be playing Wales for their last Pool Match encounter for a spot in the Quarterfinal stage.
