Thought provoking

Re: Christian principles, Samoan customs and “six million Jews”

Interesting and definitely thought provoking.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, our current prophet Russel M. Nelson revealed in the last General Conference that we are not “Mormons”, we are members of the Church of Jesus Christ as that is the true name of the church as it was restored by the Prophet Joseph Smith in 1830.

If we are to argue about matters of belief we will be here til Jesus returns but let us remember what is really important is the freedom to believe.

That is what needs to be protected and encouraged because when this right is restricted and regulated by government, it results in persecution.

As happened in the early days of Christianity, in the dark days of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints as they were chased from the Eastern United States to the state of Utah, and in other countries where the persecution of believers of one sect who were singled out because of their beliefs and murdered because they believed in things that were not held universally as happened to the Jews in the 2nd World War, it is the violent deaths of believers or their persecution as a result of political agendas that is never acceptable and must always be resisted in a free democracy.
