Frankie’s continues to grow with Utuali’i supermarket
Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sa’ilele Malielegaoi has congratulated businessman Frankie Cai for his latest business venture.
Tuilaepa was the keynote speaker on Tuesday when Frankie’s Company opened its newest $2.5 million supermarket at Utuali’i, on the west of Upolu.
The supermarket continues Frankie’s proud reputation of taking its business to where their customers are. The company already has several supermarkets in Upolu and Savai’i.
Tuesday was a proud moment for Mr. Cai, his family and the company.
“We chose this location because of its central location on the main airport road. It is ideally located for the passing traffic of cars and buses travelling to and from work each day,” he said.
“Utuali’i Frankie’s Supermarket has the ‘Hungry Franks’ restaurant, bakery which will supply fresh bread and bakery items everyday as well as a butchery.
“People from the district will now have access to all the products available in Apia at the same price they would pay there. Wholesale shopping for faalavelave is also available in the shop.”
The Utuali’i store will employ about 80 people from within the district, many of them had been left jobless when Yazaki shut its doors.
Mr. Cai added that they are in talks with Digicel Telecommunication Company in setting up a computer lab in the newly-opened supermarket.
“This computer lab will be in the store to provide free internet facilities for the local village school children.
“This service is free and will definitely assist the students with their studies.”
The Utuali’i supermarket will be open from 6am until 9pm daily.
