The two Chinese men, Yang Quigreen and Zhong Shuiming, accused of stealing more than $10,000 from the Bank of the South Pacific’s A.T.M machines were back in the Supreme Court yesterday.

This time, their lawyer, Alex Su’a, filed an application for Police to return their cell phones.

The application was made before Chief Justice Patu Tiava’asue Falefatu Sapolu.

Lawyer Ofisa Tagaloa who represented the Office of the Attorney General, did not object to the application.

He said the cell phones are with the Police and they are willing to return them.

Chief Justice Patu granted the application.

Mr. Tagaloa then asked the Court for the matter to be transferred to the District Court for mention next week. He said the charges against the two accused fall under the jurisdiction of the District Court.

The Chief Justice did not object.

He granted the application for the matter to be transferred to the District Court for mention on 18 October 2016.

The two men have been granted bail after their lawyer had argued that they suffered insomnia at the prison.
