Ben Gollings coming to Samoa
England Sevens rugby veteran Ben Gollings is coming to Samoa.
The former World Rugby Sevens top points scorer will be the Samoa Independence International Sevens Tournament Ambassador. The tournament is in May.
This was confirmed by the Samoa Independence International Sevens tournament Director, Seumanu Douglas Ngau Chun.
On a short video of Ben Gollings, he acknowledged the tournament Organizers of the SII 7s on the invitation he had received.
“Talofa Samoa, thank you to the Tournament Organizers of the Samoa Independence International 7s happening in this May, thank you for the invitation to be the tournament Ambassador,” he said.
“I’m really looking forward to the tournament, I hope everyone in Samoa is. Come out and support your team.”
The Vikings Rugby Franchise has taken over the running of the SII7s this year.
Another boost for the tournament is the confirmation of the participation of two World Rugby officials, Jordan Way, from Australia and Tevita Rokovereni, from Fiji.
This year is the fifth year of the tournament.
The SII7s tournament will kick off at Apia Park Stadium on 25 and 26 May 2018.
