The Samoa Government will officially end its week of prayer and fasting today, which started on New Year’s Day.

This year marks 28 years since the Government initiated the annual week of prayers and fasting to ask God for his protection upon Samoa as the country goes through another cyclone-prone season.

The service was held at the Government’s prayer house in Palisi and was led by Reverend Aisoli Iuli, the vice president of the Council of Churches. The service revolved around the theme “with Faith in God, everything is possible.”

Hymns were sung by the Ministry of Finance, Samoa Fire and Emergency Services Authority, and the Scientific Research Organisation of Samoa.

In attendance at the service on Tuesday, were the Head of State, His Highness, Tuimaleali’ifano Va’aletoa Sualauvi II and his Masiofo, Fa’amausili Leinafo, Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Dr. Sa’ilele Malielegaoi, his Good lady Gilian, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament and public servants.
