Meet Robin Rudd and her fiancé, Phillip Thomas.

The couple, from Waikato, New Zealand, has been courting for two years.

They shared with the Dear Tourist team that they would be tying the knot soon when they return home.

Phillip won a free trip to Samoa by getting his life insurance.

“We never thought about travelling this much because we could not afford it,” Robin said.

They are staying at the Taumeasina Island Resort.

“We are absolutely happy with the service here, the people are very kind and passionate about their job,” they shared.

Compared to their hometown in the North Island, the people in Samoa are very different.

“Back home, the people are not this nice and they are always in a rush,” Robin said.

The couple arrived last Sunday and left yesterday.

“We are really sad to leave this beautiful place,” Robin said.

In just a week, they’ve got to appreciate the richness of Samoa’s nature, culture and its people.

“We have been lucky to win this trip and getting an opportunity to do something else that we normally could not afford,” Robin explained.

The couple visited Apia and enjoyed the pool and the beautiful beach around the resort.

For Robin, who was sick during their stay here, this is definitely an unforgettable experience.

“We would love to come back as soon as we are able to afford it,” the couple said.
