Australian minister visits Head of State

The Australian Minister for International Development and Pacific, Senator, Concetta Fierravanti-Wells and her delegation visited the Head of State, His Highness Tuimaleali’ifano Va’aletoa Sualauvi II, yesterday.

During the meeting, His Highness Tuimaleali’ifano thanked Ms. Fierravanti-Wells, her delegation and the Government of Australia, for their crucial contribution to the development of Samoa.

Ms. Concetta Fierravanti-Wells is attending the Pacific Islands Forum and she is also scheduled to meet government ministers and members of parliament in between her meetings and activities.

The Minister is expected to be joined by Australia’s Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull, who is scheduled to attend the Forum Leaders Retreat on Friday.

Today, the Head of State is expected to welcome the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Patricia Scotland, who is also in the country for the Forum.
