Foundation offers holiday tutorials

PR - Holiday programmes are all too common during the holidays as students seek to catch up on school work and to remedy some of their academic weaknesses. Holiday tutorials are patronised by students who have difficulties which prohibit them from attaining their academic potential.

The Clarence Sebastian Foundation is an organisation dedicated to assisting young people with albinism living in Samoa.  The organisation will rely solely on grants, donations, fundraising events and the support of the community for its sustainability.

The Clarence Sebastian Foundation is the first of its kind to be established in Samoa.  There are no other organisations in Samoa that specifically deals with the needs of people with albinism.

There are other organisations from abroad who work with people who have albinism in the Pacific but The Clarence Sebastian Foundation (based in Samoa) is the only organisation for Samoans with albinism.

The Clarence Sebastian Foundation has the facilities and the staff to assist the children with albinism with their academic aspirations. Organised tutorial classes are a vehicle to ameliorate some of the things that they (albinos) find difficult in the classroom.

It commonly must be noted that people with albinism have vision problems and this affects their attention span.

The Board of the C.S.F. have in place future plans for tutorials in the subject areas of English, Samoan and Computers.
