S.U.N.G.O. hosts file management training

In collaboration with the Samoa In-country Training Programme (S.I.C.T.P), SUNGO hosted its Record File Management training.

The four-day course was conducted for 14 people from the various NGO’s and CBO’s around Samoa 

“From the training needs assessment conducted last year.  A number of NGO’s are running projects but many of these organisations have no formal training in the principles and practices of record file management system. Development projects need continuous tracking in addition to periodic records keeping and filing system in order to be effective and efficiently.

SUNGO conducted its training with the primary organizational message was “get back to the basics” of principles of records management and uses these principals as the basis for sound information governance”

Raymond Voight from the SUNGO board was there from the outset of the programme and delivered the keynote speech upon the presentation of certificates.

By the end of the training, participants will now be able to explain principles of good record management and write a policy on record management, set up and use a physical filing system for their office, to have an electronic filing system, explain how to archive records

And write procedures for record keeping for their NGO

The trainers for the week long course were Lotu Latai assisted by Siaosi Salesulu.
