Police charge man for double murder

The Ministry of Police has arrested a 24-year-old man in connection with the murder of two men in the weekend.

The bodies of two men were discovered in an open outdoor kitchen area at Leulumoega-uta. The Police believe their brutal murder occurred on Friday, November 23 at around 7.05am.

"The two deceased were identified as a male 69 years of Leulumoega uta/Lufilufi and New Zealand and his son-in-law, 42 years of Savaia Lefaga and Leulumoega uta.

"Evidence of alcohol was also found at the site with the bodies in badly slayed conditions.

"Due to the horrific scene, a search was immediately executed to locate a third person who was believed to be at the site," stated a police statement.

The Police said the Criminal Investigation Division responded to a homicide case. The defendant has since been charged with murder and has been remanded in custody to await Court mention scheduled for December 10, 2018.
