Farrell Keil carries Samoa on the stage
Farrell Keil is a name to remember.
Getting his first opportunity at the Samoa Sinnet Fashion Show (S.S.F.S.), Farrell has now secured a contract with New Zealand based model and talent agency, Red11.
In an exclusive interview the Samoa Observer, the budding model shared how his Samoan upbringing has moulded him into the person he is today.
The son of Adele and Kyle Keil , Farrell said that his humble Samoan upbringing keeps him grounded and importantly, motivated.
Farrel was born at the Moto’otua Hospital, and brought up the Samoan way.
“I will stay motivated to make a name in the modelling and entertainment industry, so that the world will know where I come from and also open doors for our Samoan people. Every step I take forward in this career, I’m taking Samoa with me.”
“My family, and Samoa is what keeps me motivated. I have lived in Samoa all my life, and my family have been through all the struggles that local Samoans face each day. My parents are continuously working hard, and I’m going to do the same so that one day, they won’t have to work a day in their lives again.”
Farrell said that he did see himself becoming a model one day but it was that extra push from his mom that helped turn his dreams into a reality.
“I did envision myself as a model, and was motivated mainly from my mother (Adele Keil) who would continuously tell me to keep pushing and to never give up, “ he said.
“When I first got the call to come in for an interview, I felt overwhelmed and excited for what was to come. I felt very honoured to be recognised and considered from this Agency.”
Now that he’s signed, he’s over the moon that all his hard work has now come into fruition.
“It feels great! The feeling is indescribable, but it was, and still is a lot of work.”
Of course part of the job is maintaining a healthy body. Farrell shares the key to achieving the “dream body.”
He said, “The main key to any dream physique is your diet. You always have to remember, You Are What You Eat. I’ve learnt from my older brother (Aris Keil) who has taught me everything I need to know about getting a great physique. Eating healthy food, is the key to maintaining and improving my physique,” he said.
“As a new model in this Agency, it will take awhile for me to be recognised for any potential jobs. But as of now, I’m just very happy for this accomplishment of mine, and pray for bigger things to come my way in the near future.”
