Ieremia Michael Lafi, a Hawaii Five-O star, is in Samoa – his homeland.

The nine-year-old plays the role of Kawika in the Season 8 episode 18 titled “E ho'oko kuleana” of the TV drama series.

Speaking to the Samoa Observer, he says it was a good experience to be part of a well-known TV series that has opened up new opportunities for the young actor.

“Well I am kind of a superstar, I like to be on the screen, and it is a good experience, so when I do a next movie or commercial, I have that experience already."

“My role was like a kid, and my dad does not know how to take care of himself and he was always drunk."

“So the role portrayed was that I cannot really help my dad because he is locking the doors, because he is drunk. I think when I am in the movie he just lay down in bed,” he said.

He adds he will not be in the next episode, but if they would need Kawika again then he would rejoin.

“I had a lot of opportunities after that and I hope I am going to have another opportunity so I can learn more and have more experience and be more on TV."

“I do not really want to be a main character. It does not matter if I am a background person or the main person. I just want to be in a TV show or movie because they are really fun.”

Ieremia shared: “I love being in front of cameras to be part of movies and shows. Well I like meeting popular people.”

When asked if he is proud to be Samoan, he says: “Sometimes I teach the kids at my school about the language. I start with little words and I tell them like different sentences. So now when they talk in Samoan it gets better, so there can be more Samoan talking people in the world.”

The young star has a heart for his motherland. He is more than interested in providing for the community.

“If I could help Samoa it would be like to help them make like a shelter so they will be safe and people do not come to steal from them because it is hard to find things when you are a homeless person. So if they find it they need a shelter to put it.”
