TOURISM: THE RIGHT AND WRONG WAY

Wonderful to see so many visitors on island over the past few weeks.

Beautiful To Sua may charge what seems like a fairly hefty 20 tala per visitor, but those in the know, say it is well worth it.

Safety, cleanliness and the beautiful natural environment tended by those caretakers on the property, bring nothing but praise from locals and tourists alike.

On the other hand comments about the spectacular Taga Blowholes in beautiful Savaii are not so kind.

Visitors pay only 5 tala unless they are unlucky enough to be accosted by a random villager who insists he should be given another 10 tala on top of that for “parking”. Sadly it is obvious that out of  both sums of money, little is spent to ensure the experience is wonderful.

Toilets are filthy and little has been done to publicise the area.

We look forward to the Savaii Tourism organization taking a long, hard look at this “attraction” in the very near future.
