When you find yourself making a living from doing something you love then you can count yourself lucky.

Even if that one thing you love is planting flowers, there is always a way to make it work. For Logo Fesola’i, from the village of Faleasi’u, she grew up with a love of planting flowers.

She kept with that passion until she decided that she can make a pretty decent living out of it and compared to what some others earn, $300 a day isn’t too bad.

“To be honest, I am not sure how much other people make with their work but I am sure that nothing compares to what I earn from these plants,” Logo told the Village Voice.

“I grow all sorts of flowers to sell to people who want to decorate their houses or churches. Ever since I was young, I have always loved planting different things.

“I have been planting flowers for a while but just four years ago, I decided that I will make it a priority and try earning something out of it.

“Now if you look around my land, I have almost half an acre covered with flowers and it’s doing very well for me.”

Not only is her floral garden a great income generator, it is also a form of escape for Logo whenever she needs to just relax and stroll through her garden.

“As I sat with my family, I have had a few thoughts of doing other things but the problem is that I love this,” she said.

“I love waking up every morning and making my way to my garden. I also love walking around and admiring all the different flowers that I have planted.

“When I get angry at my children, I de-stress by walking in my garden and it makes me happy again.”

And with Samoa being famous for its many events and gatherings that needs flower decorations, Logo can just sit back and let the money come to her.

“When selling these flowers, I prefer having people come over to buy what they want and how much to cut rather than taking it to the market,” she said.

“When business is good and people want to come over to buy some flowers for all their events then I can easily make about $300 a day.

“The best time for business is when the E.F.K.S. and Methodist churches have meetings or events where they need decorations.

“I sell both flower bouquets and single flowers. The prices for my flower business ranges from $1 to $300 and many people come to me to buy them in bulk.

“The money I make goes towards taking care of my family and we are doing really well with this business.”
