An autopsy report on a 16-year-old boy killed in a dispute with a 14-year-old over mobile credit, indicated that the teenager died from head injuries.

Last week, the District Court called for an inquest into the death.

Dr. Josephine Taituave took the stand to tender the medical reports from the victim and several others who have died from alleged suicides and natural deaths.

According to Dr. Taituave, the boy was brought to the Tupua Tamasese Meaole hospital where he died on 9th May, 2016.

“The cause of death is a severe head injury,” she told the Court.  “The nature of the injury is questionable. There was no witness to see what happened.”

She added that the main cause of death is the deceased being struck with a rock.

“There is no other significant cause of death stated.”

The matter was called before the District Court Judge and Coroner, Vaepule Vaemoa Vaai.
