Sisters take trip of a lifetime
Twenty-one-year-old Olivia Hazelman is heading to the United Kingdom for the trip of a lifetime.
The young woman from Vaiala, who works at the Scientific Research Organization Samoa, is the proud winner of Digicel’s Trip of a Lifetime promotion.
But she will not be alone. She is taking her younger sister, Nolani, with her to support Samoa’s heavyweight boxing champion, Lupesoliai Joseph Parker, when he defends his WBO title against Hughie Fury, on Saturday 23 September.
The Chief Executive Officer of Digicel, Farid Mohammed, congratulated the sisters yesterday.
“This is the furthest Joseph Parker is fighting and we are excited that we have the opportunity to work with him to take two of his supporters to watch the fight, live in Manchester,” he said.
Olivia entered the draw more than 18 times.
“The grand prize includes flights, accommodation, spending money, as well as an opportunity to meet Joseph Parker and his team in Manchester, during the fight.
“There were other give aways during the promotion period, including cash prizes and smart phones weekly, as well as free daily credits so this promotion, including the grand prize, was more than $60,000.”
Ms Hazelman told the media that she was shocked when she received the call.
“I was working on the day when I got the call and when they called me the first time, I didn’t answer it as I was doing something for work,” she said.
“Luckily they called twice and I answered it. The person told me I had won. I thought it was a joke so I called my little sister to come and pick me up from work.
"It was unreal to me because I had never won anything this big in my life.”
Ms Hazelman has not been to the UK before.
“I never thought I’ll win, but I buy the $3 daily bundle twice a day because to me it is worth it. I am taking my little sister with me. Initially, I was going to take my mum, however her passport has expired so she told me to take my sister.
“I would take my dad but he is not here, he is based in Fiji. So thank you Digicel for this great gift.”
Olivia’s younger sister, Nolani, is more excited.
“This is a once in a lifetime opportunity,” she said.
“One of my dreams was to go to the UK, Paris and now Manchester, I am very excited and I just can’t wait to go, so thank you to my sister and most especially, thank you Digicel.”
