Following the marathon was the official ceremony attended by Members of Cabinet, Diplomatic Corps, heads of government ministries, business community and students from various primary schools and colleges.

Throughout the ceremony, a moment of silence was observed in honour of those who have lost their lives in the service both locally and internationally.

Speaking on behalf of the Government of Samoa was Deputy Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mataafa who delivered the keynote address and congratulated the men and women who have given their lives to serve in the firefighting profession.

At the end of the ceremony, informational booths were set up for the invited schools so the students can view and witness some of the services provided by SFESA.

Speech and poster competitions were also part of the commemoration followed by fun games led by the firefighters.
