Members of the public and motorists driving through Beach Road in the Apia township can expect some delays this week. This is a result of the ongoing works for the Apia Waterfront Development Project.

“To accommodate ongoing construction for the development of our Apia Waterfront, the public is hereby advised of planned temporary road lane closure for four days, starting Mon 28th January to Fri 1st February 2019,” a notice reads.

“Only the northern most lane of the Beach Road section in Apia will be affected. This means traffic travelling east from the Clock Tower, will have to merge and use the remaining lane for the road section affected the section of Beach Road affected starts from opposite the Methodist Church building at Matafele to the Samoa Tourism Authority (STA) Fale.”

The temporary road closure for the affected section shall only be from 6pm onwards each evening. It should be re-opened for use by 6am each morning.

“For your safety, all motorists and pedestrians are advised to please adhere to traffic control and safety signage installed in the area and to reduce speed when approaching this section of the Beach Road.”
