The Samoa Police Service has donated $2000 tala to the Mapuifagalele - Home for the Age.

The Police choir group also performed for the elderly residents in a performance witnessed by the Police Commissioner Fuiavailiili Egon Keil, the executive and the staff of the home as well as the police service.

The residents have asked for the police choir to return and perform again in the New Year. 

The Commissioner acknowledged the appreciation by the Reverend mother of Mapuifagalele and conveyed good wishes from the members of the Samoa Police Service for the festive season.

The Police also visited the Pediatric Ward at the Motootua Hospital last Friday and presented $3000 tala worth of gifts. Their choir group sang Christmas carols for the sick children. 

In a statement posted on the Police Service’s Facebook page, the Samoa Police Service said the visit was a memorable and emotional experience for the Commissioner, management and staff of the Police Service—especially when seeing the smiles of the patients and the appreciation conveyed by the parents and the hospital’s pediatric staff.

The visit to Mapuifagalele and the hospital marks the second time the Samoa Police Service has done this during the festive period.  

“Samoa Police Service would like to acknowledge the assistance of the general manager and staff of the National Health Services in the arrangement of this heartwarming event,” the Samoa Police Service said in a statement.
