Fagalii claims Volleyball National League Shield

Fagalii Volleyball Club is the new reigning Shield holder for the Volleyball Federation Samoa Division One National League Competition.

Supporters and volleyball enthusiasts crowded the Samoa Independence Seventh Days Adventist Hall at Fugalei to witness another week of competition.

After six weeks, Fagalii Volleyball Club team came out desperate for a win after two straight losses in week four and five to Faleolo Jets and Lona Youth.

Uimaiama Volleyball Club, from Samatau, scooped the shield title from Spicey Volleyball team. Spicey defended the title for the past four weeks. They went down to Fagalii Volleyball Club who won both two sets to take home the men’s division one shield. 

In the women’s division, Lupe o le Soaga women’s team again defended their shield title after two sets win to the Teine o le Aoa side from Fagaloa. 

 Other matches in the women’s division competition saw Tausala Girls defeating Mud Girls, Lona Youth Girls defeating Sisters United, while Segaula girls defeated I’asa team, winning two sets to one.

In the men’s division two competitions, Ifilele Aasa retained their shield title after defeating Omo Boys two sets straight on Monday night. The Lona Youth division two teams defeated Ifilele Aasa to scrape off the shield from them on Wednesday Night. 

The competition resumes next week.
