Family looks for water tank and wheelchair
We’re all humans and we need help.
That is the opinion of 35-year-old Tuifeai Sauso’o from the village Salelesi and Iva.
“We have water and it is operated from Eva, we have to pay $10 every month for it,” he tells the Village Voice.
“We pay $360 to get our water serviced and if we miss that, then our water gets cut because it’s one of the village’s own assets.”
“But the main problem here is that the water is not always in good condition because it becomes really dirty when it rains.”
“You see, when the water is dirty, we have to be careful and be cautious about using it.”
“Even from the little showers of rain that scattered a while ago, when I went to bath, the water was dirty already and it’s irritating.”
“So I think it’s best if every family here has their own water tank as a backup when bad weather strikes.”
“There are so many diseases that are spreading everywhere from just about anything and we must be careful.”
“But I think that’s a humble request for me and my family because we can’t afford one.”
Tuifeai and his wife are looking after his elderly father and he is another person in need of help as well.
“My mother passed on a few years back then and at the moment, we’re still not blessed with a child so my 70 year old father is one of our most important priorities because he doesn’t have the ability to walk anymore.”
“He has been using a wheelchair to go around ever since he had a stroke and it affected his whole body.”
“The last time I was able to afford him a wheelchair was when I went to Pago and that’s the one he’s still wheeling around with but lately, it’s hard for my dad to be fitted into this one because he’s gaining weight.”
“I really need this for my dad please and I will appreciate any help.”
“One of us always has to stay with him because he needs help with almost everything.”
“Life is so hard right now and that’s why my wife’s brother is coming from Savaii so he can help out by looking for a job.”
“I think that’s what we are struggling with and need help with; a water tank to store water when we face rainy days and a wheelchair for my father please.”
