Sports shoes, sports bag ,water, sunscreen?

When preparing for a major sporting event in Samoa, one of the last thing on a lot of  people’s mind is bringing sunscreen.

Still, 80 minutes under the hot Samoan Sun can do a lot of damage to one’s skin.

Yesterday, in recognition of World Cancer Day, Netball Samoa hosted a netball clinic to help hone the skills of young netball players and also be a vehicle to remind kids to wear sun screen when playing sports outdoors.

The Chief Executive Officer of Netball Samoa, Rosemarie Esera used the sport of netball to send a clear message that wearing sunscreen is vital to one’s health when playing outdoors.

The Clinic was facilitated by 3 amazing netball players who were ecstatic and excited for the event.

Selina Ripley, Romanaia Pose and Gafua Salesa taught young, eager participants the basics of netball and also did fun and interactive drills with them.

Overall, the message is clear: Make sure to wear sun block!
