Get up and work, nothing is free

What you sow is what you reap.

So reminds 64-year old Gaono Matalio Schmidt of Moamoa.

He was spotted by Village Voice  relaxing.

“I’ve done the hard work and now I can sit back and enjoy my life,” he said.

“I started my big plantation long ago and I worked on it to provide for my children. From there my family has developed, my children have grown and I have nothing more to worry about.”

Gaono said the tests in life are there to make people stronger.

“I strongly believe that you earn what you work hard for.”

“For some people, they struggle because they spend too much time relying on others.”

“I’ve read a lot of articles about most people complaining that they are poor but to be honest they refuse to work.”

Gaono believes God has given people different gifts to let them live happily.

“But you have to work,” he said.

“Quit complaining about the government. As far as I know people have to stand on their own two feet to make a living.”

“For me I know if I don’t work, my family will not eat. So I have to work.”

In this day and age, there is no place for lazy people.

“Lazy people who refuse to work will resort to crimes to make ends meet, just like what we see on the television that people break into companies, other cases, people kill other people to try to get what they want for a living.”

“Normally people put the blame on the government for the expensive cost of living but that’s not the case at all.”

As for the elderly man, he said he is contented.

“Today as you can see, I’m only relaxing to buy time. All my kids are overseas working and I’m going to be with them soon.”

“I know the hard work I did to raise my family was all worth it because I knew from the beginning that the future of my children is what I worked for.”

He encourages everyone to do the same.

“If a parent is hard working then your children will want to be hard working, but if you just sit around and do nothing then your children will do the same.”

“Life is not expensive if you work hard and stop pointing fingers to others, you will forever struggle if you are lazy. Get up and work because nothing in this world is free.”
