The Prime Minister Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi has promised that the government will host a state lunch for the Seven’s captain, Selesele Falemiga and his team for their exceptional efforts.

Happy with the victory in the Paris leg of the Sevens tournament where Samoa won the cup, Tuilaepa said he now knows how to encourage Selesele to do his best on the field.

“I’m waiting for him to return so that the government can host a big feast for my man Selesele his team and the coach so they will know that what they had done is a big success.

“I have also sent my encouragement to them for this week. If they can do again what they did to Fiji, Sundays to’onai will be a great feast.”

Tuilaepa also extended his congratulations to the Coach Damian Mc Grath and Assistant Coach, Muliagatele Brian Lima.

While Samoa like other Pacific nations, lose most of their players to overseas clubs, Tuilaepa has suggested that the same can be adopted by the union.

“The reason why we lose out on opportunities is because we cannot hold on to our players,” he said.

“The only way to do that is by having some money to pay for the players and have contracts to keep them in our team.

“That is the kind of thinking that we are looking into.”
