Somebody needs to help

Dear Editor,

It’s sad what happened to the tourist at Tiavi and we hope that it won't happen again. But what can you do?

Progress come's hand in hand with problems such as this. In the 60 minutes interview, Tuilaepa mentioned that Samoa is no longer under the least developed nations status which means less aid or funding from overseas. Yes we still get assistance but it's a drop in the bucket, and it's a little rich for the reporter to criticise the government about the $30mil from AusAid, you can't run a country on $30million.

And a stupid fence would be low on any government's list of priorities.

After the tsunami another reporter hounded the P.M. and asked him on air where the $90mil tala from aid raised in NZ had gone, all the P.M. had to say is that they just had to relocate two to three whole villages which included infrastructure such as roads, power, water, home's etc then you've got to provide food, medical and not just for a week but months and even year's so get lost with your dumb questions.

No government gives cash handouts to people after a disaster, the idiot goes and interviews villagers and asks them "has the government given you any money?

I didn't see the NZ government give cash handouts to the people of Christchurch after the earthquake! That hole is still not fixed yet either.

But again the P.M. looked silly because he was ill advised on how to respond to media. Next time Tui, just release a press statement and be done with that.

If you’re really desperate, do all your interviews in Samoan not English and don't accept any more interviews from 60minutes because they're crooks with their own agenda, ie: the kidnapping case in Beirut.

And please someone on the P.M.'s staff do some research and make sure the P.M. is well informed before he does anymore interviews with the overseas press.

Jetz
