Apply the same thing to yourself

Dear Editor

Your 25 April 2018 article, “Union Chief Demands Better Results,” shows the C.E.O. is strategically appealing to the public to support him in case results keep tracking downwards.

Noted, position has improved from 12th to 9th place, top of the bottom half.

He pressured Sir Gordon to perform better.

But he should look into the mirror and point at and ask himself: Why have I appointed four managers within 18 months to serve Sir Gordon?

Is my management style producing the results that Samoa and rugby followers expect?

When will I undergo similar processes to review my performance?

If by end of World Series and Samoa Sevens is not in the top half then either Sir G cannot extract any more improvement from players or the C.E.O’s management style is just not working.

If the later, the Board should sack him just like the unsuccessful coaches under his watch.

But alas, the Chairman will not do so.   The C.E.O. was an unsuccessful H.R.P.P. candidate.  So arise Sir Gordon, the Sword may fall on you.  Please C.E.O., pass the ball.
