Sid Salek and his harem
Eighty-five year old Sid Salek of Mt Maunganui returned to Samoa last week for his second Samoa Swim Series.
He is pictured here with other regulars, Raewyn Barker of Auckland, Su Scott of Christchurch, Michele Surcouf and Christina Harris of Nelson.
Affectionately known around the swimming circles as Super Sid, he is both a legend and a veteran of Open Water swimming and he loves the Samoa Swim Series. "This is fantastic.
I was here last year and I was so well looked after and I had such a great time it was an easy decision to make to come back." Sid will swim the 2km swims in the Series at Manono Island, Apia Harbour and Sinaliei, Siumu.
