Seek help

Dear Editor,

Re: Church land mystery

It is about time the hierarchy of the Congregational Christian Church of Samoa seek professional coaching from lawyers about the process in getting land purchases properly.

I have read this newspaper for a few years now and I have to say, some of cases that involve some senior leaders of the church are so embarrassing.

I often wonder why these elders feel obliged to take on a role to overseer church finances or land purchases with no business experiences at all.

Excuse me for saying this, but all churches should be treated as a business and as long as these Elders with no idea in running such business, the church assets will continue to disappear at an alarming rate.

For years now, I have watched C.C.C.S assets slowly but surely eaten away by some non-calculated and unprofessional decision made by some elders of the church. It is so painful to read at times.

While the Elders use God as the main focus and reason for some of their decisions, there is one thing for sure compare to thirty years ago, our numbers are dwindling, so as our tithes.
